Year 5 have started their long write this week in our English lessons. We have been learning about discussion texts and how to pose a balanced argument. The children have looked at example texts and have been able to pull out a range of features which they are now busily transferring to their own fabulous pieces of writing. In Maths, the children have been problem solving, looking at different types of angles and identifying missing numbers around a point, within a right angle and on a straight line. On Wednesday, it was national numeracy day. The children used all of their wonderful Maths knowledge to complete a treasure hunt outside. The children’s challenge was to hunt for and solve all ten challenges out on the field. They had a super time, worked SO hard and enjoyed the sunshine! This week was our first three groups last session at forest schools with Mr Stanbridge. They all had a wonderful time and came back with some beautiful creations, we are looking forward to the next three groups going after half term!
