FAQs

The school day lasts from 8:45-3:15. The school doors are open from 8:35 on a morning to allow enough time to get into the classroom ready to learn from 8:45.

Please head to the main reception to sign your child in school.

In the event that you are running late please call the office on 01642 286599 to let the school know.
If you will be later than 3:20 then your child may be placed into afterschool club where there may be a fee.

If someone new will be collecting your child please inform the class teacher at drop off or call the
office on 01642 286599. All children will be sent a collection password upon starting the school,
please keep this safe. This password can be passed on to individuals who you have authorised to
collect.

Please either: Telephone the office and leave a voicemail or speak to the office staff, complete the
absence reporting form on our app or email the school at kader.absences@kaderacademy.org.uk.

Absences must be reported by 9:30, if not office staff will contact you to give a reason for the
absence.

If you are interested in moving your child in to Kader please contact the office to check we have
spaces in their year group. Our class sizes are capped at 30. If there is not a space available, we can keep your details on our waitlist until a space becomes available.

If there is a space, you would then need to contact the admissions team at Middlesbrough Council who will provide you with a Transfer Request Form.

We welcome children into our Nursery once they have turned 3. Spaces for our Nursery are allocated on a first come first served basis and are managed by our Nursery Team. To apply for a

Once you have completed the form a member of our nursery team will get in touch to discuss start dates. We have provision for full time (30 hours) and part time (15 Hours either morning or afternoon) spaces.

Reception places are allocated by Middlesbrough Council. Parents will be sent letters in November informing you on how to apply, the deadline is usually at the start of January, with parents being informed of where their child is going in the Spring Term.

Once allocated a space we invite children and parents in for a welcome meeting to see their new
classrooms and meet their teachers and fellow classmates.

Year 6 places are allocated by Middlesbrough Council. Parents will be sent letters in September
informing you on how to apply, the deadline is usually toward the end of October, with parents
being informed of where their child is going in the Spring Term.

Secondary Schools have a number of open evenings in order for you to make informed decisions
about what school is best for your child. The Year 6 team will be on hand to help your child through the process

Children can either bring a packed lunch from home or have a school meal provided.

For packed lunches we encourage you provide a balanced and healthy lunch for your child. Kader is a nut free school due to children with allergies.

School Meals are free for children in Reception Year 1 and Year 2. Once children get to Year 3, they are £2.40 per day. Kader is a ‘cashless’ school, we take payments via Iris PlusPay, here you can add dinner money credit and will only be charged for the days your child is in school. In certain circumstances you may be eligible for Free School Meals, please click here for more information.

Children can come to school wearing: a purple jumper (this does not need to be branded), a purple polo shirt, grey trousers/shorts/skirts.

For PE children can wear black shorts or tracksuit bottoms, a white t-shirt or a Purple Kader PE shirt which can be purchased from Motif8 online.

We ask that pupils do not wear jewellery in school. Earrings must be removed before coming into school, those that cannot be removed should be covered with medical tape or plasters.

Where possible we ask that you make appointments outside of the school day or as close to the start or the end of the day as possible. If you are unable to do so, please bring a copy of the letter or text
to the office so we can make a record of the appointment.

There is always a trained first aider on duty to attend to any accidents that happen in school. Accidents that require medical attention are recorded, and in the event of a bumped head a member of staff will make a phone call home so you can keep an eye on your child when they get home.

In the event of a serious accident the school would involve medical services as soon as possible.

Children should remain at home until they are well enough to be in school. In the event of sickness or diarrhea they must remain at home until 48 hours after the last bout of illness.

For any other specific illnesses please contact the office to discuss.

The school’s car park is for Staff and Blue Badge holders only. Parents are able to utilize the ample street parking surrounding the school.

Please be aware that the area around the school gets very busy during pickups and drops offs so you may need to park further away and walk in at times.

We currently use MyEd for our communication. All letters, consent forms and important information will be sent via the app. Terms dates and some letters will also be uploaded to the Kader Website.

Breakfast club runs from 7:30-8:45 and costs £5.00 per sessions. Afterschool Club runs from 3:15-5:30pm and costs £7.50.
Sessions can be booked and paid for via Iris PlusPay. Payments can also be made via the tax-free childcare scheme and other similar schemes (please contact the office for more info).

If you have any concerns about your child’s progress, we ask that you arrange an appointment to talk to your child’s class teacher.

We offer a variety of after school clubs. This currently includes:
