Welcome to Year 4- a year of Romans, Anglo-Saxons, Viking invaders, global adventures, lots of learning and lots of fun!
Meet the Staff

Year 4 is an exciting year at Kader Academy, where pupils continue to build confidence, deepen their knowledge and develop as independent learners.
Rooted in our Kader values of Kindness, Ambition, Determination, Excellence and Respect, and driven by Relationships, Identity and Ambition, we create a supportive environment where every child feels part of One Family, develops a strong sense of self and is encouraged to achieve their very best.
The Year 4 curriculum is engaging, ambitious and carefully sequenced to build on prior learning while introducing new concepts and challenges. Pupils are encouraged to think more deeply, make connections across subjects and communicate their ideas with increasing confidence through our strong emphasis on oracy.
Beyond the classroom, Year 4 pupils benefit from a range of enriching experiences that support their personal development, build relationships and broaden their horizons- a firm favourite being forest school!
As pupils move through Year 4, they continue to grow in independence and responsibility, laying strong foundations for Upper Key Stage 2.
By the end of Year 4, our pupils are confident, motivated and resilient learners who are proud of their achievements and ready for the next stage of their journey- living our vision of:
One Family. Little People. Big Dreams.

To find out more about what your child will learn in Year 5: explore our core and foundation subjects below.
Multiplication Tables Check (MTC)
A key focus in Year 4 is the development of times table fluency, in preparation for the statutory Multiplication Tables Check (MTC) in June. Through regular practice, engaging approaches and high expectations, pupils build speed, accuracy and confidence in recalling multiplication facts up to 12 × 12. We ensure that pupils feel well prepared and supported, approaching the check with confidence and a positive mindset. Click the link for more information. Please speak to your child’s class teacher if you have any further questions.
Personal Development and Wellbeing
In Year 4, we recognise that pupils are continuing to grow in confidence, independence and self-awareness. This is an important stage where children further develop their understanding of themselves, their emotions and their relationships with others.
Through our carefully planned PSHE curriculum, pupils explore topics such as friendships, respect, wellbeing and staying healthy in an age-appropriate and inclusive way. We create a safe and supportive environment where children feel confident to share their thoughts, ask questions and learn from one another.
Wellbeing is prioritised daily. Pupils are supported to recognise and manage their emotions, develop resilience and begin to understand positive ways to cope with challenges. Through strong relationships and our One Family ethos, children know they are valued, listened to and supported.
Pupils further develop their understanding of the fundamental British Values of democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty and mutual respect, applying these through their interactions and experiences in school.
In Year 4, pupils begin to take greater responsibility for themselves and their role within the school. They are encouraged to show kindness, respect and pride in their achievements, helping to build confidence and a strong sense of identity.
Through a range of experiences both in and beyond the classroom, our Year 4 pupils continue to grow into confident, respectful and thoughtful individuals, well prepared for the next stage of their journey.
