SPAG homework due Friday 17th January
Page 6 (verbs). Success criteria at the top of the page. We have done plenty of work on different verbs this week (we encourage children to remember that ly words are usually adverbs and not verbs). This homework tests understanding of verb tenses and making words make grammatical sense in context.

Maths homework due Friday 17th January

Page 50 (translations). Children should follow the attached success criteria pictures for some guidance and remember to translate each and every vertex (corner) of the shapes on as a time. This homework also revises compass directions. Tip for the final question as it’s pretty tricky – draw out the steps on a piece of paper and think logically! Don’t worry too much if this question is a bit tricky!

Comprehension task – 2 minute reads! We hope everyone is continuing to enjoy their work on fluency. We have once again sent a sheet home with children and explained the task. It is not a very time consuming task but we hope this new approach could make all the difference! The sheet itself has all the relevant information on it! We hope everyone can continue to get behind this and support us in developing fluency!

Plus weekly reading of home reading book (4 x per week minimum).

Children also have logins for Conquer Maths, Read Theory and ‘Times Table Rockstars’, which they are more than welcome to explore at home! We will continue to give out our weekly certificates for using Read Theory, Conquer Maths and Times Table Rockstars!

Many thanks for your continued support,

Y5 team
