Pupil Premium

The academy uses the Pupil Premium funding to support pupils and overcome any barriers to learning.  The following outlines how the Pupil Premium was used in the 2016/2017 financial year.

Nature of support 2016/2017

For 2016/2017 academic year the academy received the following Pupil Premium allocation £69,000. The academy used the funding to:

Continue to employ additional experienced teaching staff to provide extra support in English and mathematics lessons for pupils.

Provide additional educational psychologist support.

Provide support from the Bungalow Project to help children with social, emotional and behavioural difficulties.

Nature of support 2017/2018

For 2017/2018 academic year the academy’s Pupil Premium funding was £65,700. For this academic year the academy will be using the funding to:

Continue to employ additional experienced teaching staff to provide extra support for pupils in English and mathematics lessons

Further improve attendance and lateness through the employment of an Educational Welfare Officer

Provide Parent Support Adviser (PSA) support to reduce the impact of specific barriers to learning by supporting children and their families

Provide support through the Bungalow Project by addressing social, emotional and behavioural issues

Continue to provide targeted CPD for all staff in order to continue developing pedagogy to improve pupil outcomes

Purchase reading material to support the Power of Reading initiative.
