Young Voices information meeting for Parents of Y2-Y5

11/06/2019 3:30pm

Young Voices – Sheffield Arena, January 2020.

We are delighted to once again offer the opportunity for children to take part in the Young Voices event which will take place in Sheffield Arena in January 2020.

Young Voices is the world’s largest children’s choir and has a long standing history spanning 19 years. Their spectacular tours have featured an impressive array of top talent including Tony Hadley, Lucy Spraggan, The Beatbox Collective, Katherine Jenkins, Alexandra Burke, Beverley Knight, Dionne Bromfield, Joss Stone and many other established acts. This national event covers London, Manchester, Birmingham and Sheffield, giving the opportunity to over 110,000 children all over the UK to participate and enjoy the experience of singing.

Young Voices is designed to unify children from across the region, boost their confidence and provide lifelong memories for them and their families. Teachers and pupils practice the dance routines and learn the songs in school for many months before they excitedly come together for the penultimate show.

We are very excited to be taking part in this event again and every child has the opportunity to be part of the Kader Young Voices Choir! Initially, rehearsals will take place weekly. Children will also bring home the words of the songs to learn (as well as the dance moves to go with them!). There is no charge for your child to take part in this event, however we are hoping for parental support at the concert! Tickets will be available for purchase as soon as we know which children are attending.

If you would like your child to take part in this fabulous event, we do require a firm commitment from both you and your child. This includes:

Pupil Commitment:

  • Attendance every week at rehearsals in school.
  • Learning the words and moves to the songs at home.
  • Behaviour must be exceptional at all times, both in school and at the venue.
  • Children must wear the official Young Voices T-shirt throughout the event (Provided by the school).

Parent’s commitment:

  • Once available, audience tickets for the concert must be purchased through school before 10th September 2019.
  • Children will not be allowed to leave the concert early and must return to school on the coach with school staff before being picked up by parents.
  • Children must be provided with a packed lunch and tea on the day of the event.
  • Any queries regarding the event must be directed to the school (Miss Scotney/ Mrs Donkanha).
  • Once purchased, tickets for the event cannot be refunded.
  • No video or SLR cameras are allowed in the Arena. DVDs of the event will be available to purchase at an approximate cost of £15.

Please note that as this is an all-day event for the children, they will return home late on the evening of the concert.

We will be holding an information evening for parents on Tuesday 11th June from 3.30 p.m.
